The New Jersey Tooling and Manufacturing Association was established in 1943 and incorporated in 1945 by a small group of manufacturing companies who thought they could better themselves by associating with one another. Through the years, members established programs and services that would help their businesses grow and prosper.
A Board of Directors composed of executives from member firms governs NJTMA. A small full-time staff works closely with the Board and its committees.

Member companies, regular, industrial or professional range in size from one-person sole owner proprietorships to those with over 100 employees.
The Tooling and Manufacturing Industry as defined for this Association is made up of businesses primarily engaged in the business of manufacturing. Membership types include:
Regular members
Any proprietorship, partnership, firm, coporation or other business entity primarily engaged in the business of manufacturing.
Industrial Associate members
Those proprietorships, partnerships, firms, or corporations engaged in a business of providing service, equipment or material to the industry which are directly related to manufacturing machine related products or services
Professional Associate members
Any proprietorship, partnership, firm, or corporation engaged in the business of providing peripheral services to the industry not directly related to manufacturing machine related products or services
