Members of the New Jersey Tooling & Manufacturing Association, when they join, pledge themselves to observe the following Principles of Business Conduct:
- To quote only realistic delivery promises, and meet all delivery dates unless the customer's delays or changes make it impractical;
- To hold in confidence the designs and manufacturing procedures for special tooling and precision machining unless the customer releases the company from this obligation;
- To deliver special tooling and precision machining to the specifications and quality agreed upon;
- To base quotations on a full knowledge of your own costs and all elements affecting the performance of the job, recognizing that without a fair profit the business cannot long exist;
- To refrain from misrepresenting the company's operations and capabilities and from offering remuneration or benefit to influence the placement of business;
- To avoid willfully discrediting the equipment, product, methods, personnel or credit standing of a competitor;
- To refrain from misleading advertising or personal solicitations;
- To accept responsibility to sponsor apprentice training within the company's means, to provide for a future skilled
workforce;
- To use fair purchasing methods in dealing with suppliers;
- To treat employees equitably in all respects, including payment of fair wages and supplemental benefits, and to maintain safe and sanitary working conditions.
